With the contribution of Calik group companies in Albania, ALBtelecom, Eagle Mobile and BKT has started the Urban requalification of "Ataturk" Square in Tirana (formerly 21Dhjetori). After the regulations made in this field for a better circulation of vehicles and pedestrians, the area has already started adjusting the appearance of all the facades surrounding the square. These works are part of the big plan of urban requalification of the Tirana Municipality, to improve the conditions and public facilities of the capital.
This project aims to increase the greenery in the area and creating facilities for pedestrian movement within the space of the square.
The ceremony of starting the work was attended by high executives of three companies, Mr. Ali Taskin, Mr. Seyhan Pencapligil and Mr. Vahap Yeroglu together with the mayor of Tirana, Mr. Edi Rama. During the ceremony Mr. Hasan Sevilir Asan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Tirana had a speech.
Mayor Edi Rama said that through this project and financial support to three private companies, will significantly increase the beauty and quality of life in this very important space for the capital.
Turkish Ambassador to Tirana Hasan Sevilir Asan, praising the cooperation between three companies and Tirana Municipality, said that the beautiful city of Tirana needs care, in order to provide as much convenience for the residents.
"I feel proud that the square that bears the name of the legendary man Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was rehabilitated with the support of three prestigious companies ALBtelecom, BKT and Eagle Mobile", concluded Asan.
The companies ALBtelecom, BKT and Eagle Mobile have been engaged in many projects in support of community. Eagle Mobile has announced the year 2010 "Year of Environment", noting the great importance that the environment has on people's lives. During this year the company has undertaken projects such as planting trees, creating playgrounds for children, the involvement of more than 3000 secondary school students in cleaning the environment project, etc.
